Seminar goal

Organizations employ individuals, however, almost all employees work in one or several teams (small cooperative groups, engaged in coordinated activities in order to reach a common goal). Research has shown that managers found the ability of team work to be the most important characteristic of a perfect employee, even before such characteristics as determination, problem-solving, experience, and communication skills.

No matter how capable people are as individuals, they alone cannot deal with all the complexitites of business world. We all need knowledge and abilities of other people in order to achieve results. Like in team sports, a group of excellent business individuals who do not function as a team cannot beat a well coordinated team of individually weaker players.

Highly efficient teams have the following chararcteristics: dedication to the common goal, high level of bonding and coordination, casual friendly atmosphere of open communication and respect for everybody’s ideas and suggestions, complementary types of knowledge and skills, a team leader who makes sure that members compete with their ideas instead of with their ego.

Although teams can have from 2 to 20 and more members, the optimal size of a team is 5-9 members.

Successful teams are not made by chance, they have to be carefully built. Efficiency can be significantly increased by understanding the team’s development phases and the leader’s influence on the group dynamics.

Team learning and team building activities can significantly increase the efficiency of an already existing team, as well as help the building of the recently formed ones: by increasing knowledge and awareness of the need, usefulness and priniciples of team work, fostering cooperation, tolerance and understanding among the members, enabling members to get to know one another in more casual situations, mutual pleasant and positive experiences which are often rememebered as the most beautiful moments of the business year.

Team learning and team building activities entice members to find the ways how they can work together, the drawbacks which need to be overcome and actions which should be taken to achieve better cooperation.

Seminar goal is the development and improving of skills, knowledge and competences of team management that are vital for successful management. Through this seminar, participants will learn key competencies that modern managers must have – and techiques for mastering them, practical steps for developing their own skills. The training leader will pay special attention to the psychological and practical aspects of team management applied to concrete business situations.
